What is Favipiravir. Buy Favipiravir no prescription

Favipiravir is a new broad-spectrum antiviral drug developed in Japan in 2014. It is a selective inhibitor of RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, which is a key enzyme for replication of RNA viruses. Therefore, Favipiravir is active against wide range of RNA viruses, including Ebola, Lassa, Rabies, West Nile virus, yellow fever virus, Rift Valley virus, enteroviruses, influenza, coronavirus etc. Meanwhile it is not effective against DNA viruses, like Adenovirus, Herpes etc. Up to now there are no strains which developed resistance to the drug yet.

How it acts. Buy Favipiravir online

Favipiravir is a prodrug. While entering the cell it is metabolized to its active form, favipiravir-ribofuranosyl-5′-triphosphate (favipiravir-RTP). In its turn, favipiravir-RTP inhibits viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, which leads to termination of viral RNA and causing lethal mutations in viral genome.

How to take Favipiravir dosage

The drug must be taken orally, 30 minutes before meals.

For the treatment of novel coronavirus infection with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID), the following dosing is recommended:

  • for patients weighing <75 kg: 1600 mg (8 tablets) 2 times a day on the 1st day of therapy, then 600 mg (3 tablets) 2 times a day from the 2nd to the 10th day of therapy, respectively; the course requires 70 tablets
  • for patients weighing ≥75 kg: 1800 mg (9 tablets) 2 times a day on the 1st day of therapy, then 800 mg (4 tablets) 2 times a day from the 2nd to the 10th day of therapy, respectively; the course requires 90 tablets.

The drug should be taken after laboratory confirmation of the diagnosis and / or in the presence of characteristic clinical symptoms.

ATTENTION!

Although Favipiravir is considered safe and does not affect DNA replication, it may affect human RNA-dependent RNA polymerase which plays vital role in embryo development. Therefore, Favipiravir is strictly contraindicated for pregnant women or for couples who plan pregnancy in the nearest year. Men taking Favipiravir must avoid having sex with pregnant women.
